A short version
There are a few things you should know as a user of the app “Orbi”.
- Your location will be stored. When you use features of this application there are other Infos that will be collected that could be valuable concerning your privacy.
Keep in mind: When you for example create an object in the virtual world of Orbi this leaves a track of your location. This leads to information when you were at what place.
- Your email address will be stored. So all the information Orbi collects on your actions can be connected to you.
- Other users (possibly everyone) may see certain information about you.
Keep in mind: For example if you have created an object a week ago another user finds this object and can see that you might have been there at a certain time.
- Your password is safe. Orbi is not asking you to choose your own password. You will get a new generated password periodically or simply request one.
We (the developers of Orbi) would like to make all operations going on within Orbi as clear as possible. That is why there is this short and simple version above for everyone to understand. This short version does not claim to be a complete policy. For a full version see below.
The full version
Transparency and openness about sensitive information and all privacy related processes is one of the Orbi development team’s (“we”, “us”, and “our”) major objectives. Some parts in this policy might change over time because Orbi is undergoing steady improvement and development. It is important to know that Orbi is open-source . There are no hidden processes going on and everyone can view the entire source-code to see what is happening in detail with all the data collected.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
Your email address will be stored when you register in Orbi to create an account and further identify you as a user (“PII”). Furthermore Orbi uses the email address (“PII”) you provided to connect certain actions within the application to your account. In order for Orbi to work your location will be stored along with most actions or operations you perform. A lot of your actions as well as objects you create will be stored along with date information as well as location data. This means there is going to be a trace of your actions connecting your account to certain locations. Other users of Orbi can view objects you created and therefore get insight in your location at specific points in time.
Orbi uses your camera to provide augmented view on the virtual world but does (for now) not store any pictures or videos provided by the camera.
All information the application might sent or receive from servers is SSL encrypted. Also Orbi does not ask you to choose your own password for security reasons. You will receive new passwords via email periodically. In case of a breach no personal password can be stolen and all passwords can be reset at any time to prevent any further damage.
If you want your account to be deleted simply write an informal email to the address provided below.
No information of any kind will be shared with any third party.
